McDonald’s Commits $200M to Regenerative Cattle Farming in U.S.
McDonald’s (MCD) is allocating $200 million over seven years to advance regenerative agriculture practices on U.S. cattle ranches, marking its largest investment in sustainable farming stateside. The initiative follows similar projects in Canadian and European potato farms, underscoring the fast-food chain’s focus on long-term food system resilience.
Regenerative techniques—such as rotational grazing and land rest periods—enhance soil health, water retention, and carbon sequestration. McDonald’s partnership with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation aims to scale these methods across 4 million acres in 38 states, targeting measurable environmental impact.
